Anxiety Attack Symptoms
Symptoms of anxiety attacks are sometimes unpredictable. Symptoms of anxiety attacks have many facets, many possibilities, many forms and many variables.
However, there are some very common symptoms that are deemed anxiety attacks like: extreme fear of having another anxiety attack, fear that the anxiety attack will never end, fear of dying, difficulty breathing, chest pain, heart palpitations, intense anxiety and many other symptoms that are dangerous and feel life threatening. An anxiety can closely resemble a heart attack and anxiety attacks share many common symptoms of a heart attack.

Anxiety attacks may occur at any place and at any given moment. Sometimes you can feel the symptoms of an anxiety attack coming on; sometimes anxiety attacks come out of absolutely nowhere. Anxiety attacks can have inconsistent symptoms from one anxiety attack to another; anxiety attacks can have mild symptoms or severe symptoms. Since anxiety attacks can happen literally anywhere, anytime, symptoms of anxiety attacks can be dangerous.

Becoming more aware of what symptoms each individual experiences during an anxiety attack can be very helpful in preventing anxiety attacks. Sometimes, major stress can cause anxiety attacks for example: if you have become aware that stress is what is causing your anxiety attacks, once you start feeling stressed out, immediately leaving the stressful situation and taking a few minutes to breathe and relax can prevent the sometimes scary and intrusive symptoms of an anxiety attack.

These symptoms are quintessential signs of an anxiety attack: extreme worry, extreme anxiety, extreme fear, headache or migraine, trouble breathing, not being able to breathe, hyperventilation, tightness in the throat, confusion, pacing, racing thoughts, racing heart beat, heart palpitations, dizziness, trembling, upset stomach, vomiting, hot and cold flashes, cold sweats, abnormal sweating, flushing (red face), feeling faint, feeling like the attack will never end, feeling like something bad is going to happen, feeling claustrophobic, feeling lightheaded, numbness or tingling sensations, depression, agitation, sensitivity towards lights and sounds, feeling sad, uncontrollable emotions and feeling like you are going to die. These are only the most common symptoms of an anxiety attack; there can be many other symptoms like hallucinations and perception distortions during an extreme anxiety attack.

The symptoms of an anxiety attack can be scary and feel life threatening, when a person is having an anxiety attack, it is very common for it to feel like the attack lasted for hours or feel like it lasted forever. In actuality, the symptoms of anxiety attacks peak somewhere between 10 and 60 minutes and then gradually go away. After the initial 10 – 60 minutes, it may take a person the whole day to recover and feel normal again. After having one anxiety attack, the chances are very high that there will be another anxiety attack. Since the symptoms of anxiety attacks can be traumatizing, people are afraid, sometimes deathly afraid that they will have another anxiety attack. This is part of the problem; anxiety, paranoia, fear and negative thinking seem to trigger anxiety attacks. Learning how to harness your thoughts and energy in a positive way greatly reduces the chances of experiencing the uncomfortable symptoms of anxiety attacks.
